Descripción general

Las distrofias de los bastones cónicos (ERC) son un grupo heterogéneo clínica y genéticamente de enfermedades retinianas hereditarias caracterizadas por la degeneración del fotorreceptor del cono que puede conducir a la pérdida del fotorreceptor del bastón. La característica principal de estos trastornos es la pérdida progresiva de la visión central, alteraciones de la visión del color y alteraciones de la luz. Existen más de 30 tipos de distrofias de conos y bastones, diferenciadas por su causa genética y patrón de herencia, que pueden ser autosómicas recesivas, autosómicas dominantes y ligadas al cromosoma X. Estos trastornos pueden ocurrir solos sin otros signos y síntomas o pueden estar asociados a un síndrome que afecta a múltiples órganos.

El panel de precisión de distrofia de varillas cónicas de Igenomix se puede utilizar para realizar un diagnóstico preciso y directo, así como un diagnóstico diferencial de ceguera que, en última instancia, conduce a un mejor manejo y pronóstico de la enfermedad. Proporciona un análisis completo de los genes involucrados en esta enfermedad utilizando secuenciación de próxima generación (NGS) para comprender completamente el espectro de genes relevantes involucrados.
Indicaciones
- El Panel de Precisión de Distrofia de Varilla Cono Igenomix está indicado para aquellos pacientes con sospecha clínica o diagnóstico con o sin las siguientes manifestaciones:

Disminución de la agudeza visual.

Fotofobia

Ceguera nocturna
-
Disminución de la percepción de los colores.

Pérdidas irregulares de la visión periférica.

Escotoma central

La confirmación genética y molecular para un diagnóstico clínico preciso de un paciente sintomático.

Inicio precoz del tratamiento con un equipo multidisciplinar para ralentizar el proceso degenerativo, tratar las complicaciones y ayudar a los pacientes a afrontar el impacto social y psicológico de la ceguera.

Evaluación de riesgos y asesoramiento genético de familiares asintomáticos según modalidad hereditaria.

Mejorar la correlación genotipo-fenotipo asociada con estas distrofias.
